Personal data

Packdreams asks for no account and deliberately collects no identifying data. The strict minimum is kept so the counters stay honest.

What is kept

  • A pd_id cookie : a random identifier containing no personal data, valid for one year. Its only purpose is to avoid counting the same person twice on the same pack.
  • A pd_lang cookie : your chosen language, so you are not asked again.
  • A fingerprint of your IP address, put through an irreversible process and combined with a secret specific to this site. It is used to detect automated inflation of the counters. The IP address itself is never stored.
  • The date of each vote, to build the weekly ranking.
  • What you type yourself when creating a pack: the two product names and, if you fill it in, the nickname of your choice. This information is public by nature, since it is displayed on the pack.

What is not done

No analytics, no advertising tracker, no embedded social network, no profiling, and no data sold or passed to a third party for commercial purposes. The only technical recipients are the hosts named above. Voting data is stored in the European Union.

Legal basis and retention

Processing relies on the publisher’s legitimate interest in guaranteeing the sincerity of the votes. Votes are kept without a time limit: they are the pack’s public counter. Technical fingerprints are kept as long as needed to detect abuse.

Your rights

You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection. Write to contact@packdreams.com.

In full transparency: since the site keeps only an irreversible fingerprint, it cannot find a person from their name or email address. To identify your own votes, write to us from the device and connection used when voting. You can also delete the pd_id cookie from your browser at any time.

You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority — cnil.fr.

Cookies

The site sets two cookies, pd_id and pd_lang, strictly necessary for voting and for showing the site in your language. As such they require no consent banner, which is why you see none. If analytics or an advertising tracker is ever added, a banner will become mandatory.

Intellectual property

Brands, product names and titles mentioned on this site belong to their respective owners and are named for reference only, to describe the products visitors would like to see bundled. Packdreams is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any manufacturer or publisher. No official logo or box art is used: the artwork on this site is produced by Packdreams.

Any rights holder may request the removal of a mention by writing to the contact address.

Visitor-published content

Packs are created by visitors. They are reachable at their own address as soon as they are created and reviewed before entering the public ranking. The publisher removes any manifestly unlawful content as soon as it is reported. To report a pack, see the contact page.

Some links to merchant sites may be affiliate links: a purchase made after clicking may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Such links are always marked “sponsored link” next to the link, remain a secondary action, and have no influence on the ranking.
